WHAT IS IMPORTANT ABOUT BREAD BAKING?
Everybody can bake his own bread. That’s really easy. Even if you have never tried before. In order to have a succesful bread baking, you should consider the following:
time
the right temperature
extensive kneading
the ingredients
The most important thing about baking bread: Time
Today, our lives have become very fast-paced. But there is something to counter this trend. The bread dough! If you want to bake your own bread, you should note that a good bread needs a lot of time.
Especially bread baked with sourdough should be given enough time to rise before it enters the oven. Especially if you want to bake your bread in the oven or the pot, the dough should rest a little longer after kneading rather than too short. Ideally covered with a cloth in a warm place.
Two important factors when baking bread: The correct temperature and air
For the bread to rise properly during baking, the temperature must be right. Unless otherwise stated in the recipe, the ingredients should no longer be cold in the fridge. Ideally they are at room temperature.
The room in which the bread is baked should also be kept at a good temperature. Under no circumstances should the dough be exposed to draught. Because this prevents the bread from rising properly.
The kneading process: The airier the bread, the longer you need.
After mixing all the ingredients for the homemade bread, knead the dough well. Which brings us back to the time factor. Because the dough should be kneaded very extensively so that it is supplied with a lot of oxygen.
The airier and looser the finished bread should become, the more extensively and better you should knead.
You don’t necessarily have to use your hands to knead. It makes sense to hand this task over to a food processor or to the dough program of the Bread maker. And if you want to be particularly hip, you can use your Thermomix.
